EAGLE VALLEY SEARCH DOGS

Our team consist of members with over 80 years of combined search and rescue experience, dedicated in developing highly trained K9/Handler teams for Cadaver (HRD) and Airscent SAR disciplines. We adhere to the training and certification requirements set forth by the New York State Federation of Search and Rescue Teams, the International Police Working Dog Assocation, and the Search and Rescue Council of NJ, in order for our K9 handlers to be considered "operational" and fit for deployment.

Our K9/Handler teams are certified in: HRD Wilderness + HRD Advanced (Crime scene), Water Recovery, Airscent/Wide Area Search).

In addition, our member credentialing includes (but not limited to): EMT, WFA, CPR, Lost Person Behavior + Instructor Level, NASAR MLPI, DEC Searcher 1 (Crew Boss), ICS 100, 200, 300, 700, Crime Scene Preservation, K9 First Aid, NASAR SAR Tech III

  • Member since 2006 / Founding member
  • Working towards evaluator status in HRD with NYFEDSAR
  • Served as team vice president from 2006 - 2015
  • Retired NYPD Detective (20 years on the force).
  • Served as a First Responder during 9/11
  • Trained, certified, and handled former K9 partner "Scout" for 12 years, certifying him in HRD- Crime Scene/Forensics through IPWDA.
  • Team liaison to local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.

  • Assisted in locating and stabilizing missing persons.
  • Certified in EMT, Medical, NYS Basic Ropes
  • Member of First Aid Squad
  • Member Medical Disaster Team, assisting in numerous medical emergencies in natural disasters in the last several years.
  • Works as a pet companion dog trainer.
  • Instructor: CPR, Wilderness, Advanced & Basic First Aid, Oxygen, BBP, K9 CPR, Pet Training, Obedience, Human Remains Detection, Water Recovery.​
